You can feel it in the air folks, Phish tour is upon us. In less than 72 hours, the band will kick off its 13 show Northeast fall tour. Hot of the massive success of a two-legged summer tour that just seemed to build and build over time and a picture-perfect Festival 8, one can only dream of what’s in store in the coming weeks. Indoor shows carry a different energy than outdoor ones, there’s just nothing quite like Phish in the winter. Let’s get this show on the road!

PHISH NYE in Miami Confirmed!

Looks like the rumors were true and Phish is headed down south for NYE for 4 nights in Miami. Check out the Phishy announcement below in the ‘Phishbill’ handed out at Festival 8:

Furhtur NYE

It’s official. Dark Star Orchestra’s John K. will abandon his band and his fans to play two shows with Phil Lesh and Bob Weir as ‘Furthur‘ in SF for NYE. Phil Lesh once said the Grateful Dead lives forever – is it worth reaping havoc with the heirs to the throne for one last hurrah with old man Bobby behind the wheel? See what HiddenTrack has to say about it here… Starheads everywhere are outraged, especially those that bought tickets to see DSO NYE over the last month(!) prior to the annconcment that they were onsale.

Fall is in the air and the NYC music scene is heating up again after a few weeks of relatively low activity following the summer concert season. The next couple months will see just about all the big names in Jam coming to NYC – Phish, Furthur, Ratdog, The Disco Biscuits, Gov’t Mule, Lotus, The New Deal – you name it, they’re coming before 2009 is up. Biscuits for Thanksgiving Dinner and New Year’s Dessert

More rumors amuck today – this time in the Bisco camp. Word is the band is making a Thanksgiving weekend homecoming to the Electric Factory in Philly for Friday and Saturday performances on November 27th and 28th. Additionally, rumor has it that the band will return to the Nokia Theater in Times Square, New York City for a 5-NIGHT (!) New Years run.

Camp Bisco 8

Bisco just won’t let up in 2009 – playing more shows than recent years including an upcoming monster of a fall tour to promote their  long awaited new album – ‘Planet Anthem’ – that will likely in January of next year. Check out the first two tracks off the forthcoming album here.

Phish Fall Tour and NYE 2009

The dates rumored here over two months ago are seeming more and more certain for Phish’s fall and NYE plans. Sources inside the Phish org are confirming the below dates, and also the possibility of an April 2010 European tour. Other uncorrobated rumors include a pre-Festival8 run including The Hollywood Bowl, a Conan appearance, and a stop in Denver at a location TBD. Additionaly, it looks as if the boys may make a mid-week stop in Worcester between their Albany and MSG dates in the fall. While nothing’s confirmed until it’s on the Phish.com, I’d say go ahead – get excited, make travel plans, get ready for winter Phish, the tastiest kind!
